Inflatable toys, novelties & furniture

Myth: It is not possible for children to access polystyrene beads inside the sealed plastic bladder of inflatable toys, so it is OK to let them play with these popular toys because they are, after all, quite safe.

Fact: No. These toys are unsafe even if they seem to be well sealed. There are cases where children have gained access to these hazardous beads in sealed products and in some cases have died of suffocation. The plastic bladder can wear, become damaged or rupture and release the small beads. The beads can also come out through the air valve in these toys.
