The ACCC is holding a free interactive webinar on mandatory reporting requirements under the Australian Consumer Law:

Mandatory reporting of product-related death, injury & illness under the Australian Consumer Law – how to do it, why you should & what happens if you don't.

Date: 10 April 2013

Time: 12:00pm to 1:00pm AEST

The webinar is for anyone who supplies consumer goods in the Australian market, at any stage of the supply chain. It is also for anyone who provides product-related services (such as delivery, installation, assembly, maintenance, repair or cleaning of consumer products).

During the webinar, Ruth Mackay, General Manager and John Jamieson, Director from the ACCC’s Product Safety Branch will explain:

  • what mandatory reporting is
  • how to submit a mandatory report
  • why and when a supplier should submit one
  • what happens when suppliers don't submit a mandatory report
  • what suppliers' rights and obligations are in the mandatory reporting process.

Participants will also be able to ask the presenters questions via the webinar portal and via the ACCC Product Safety Twitter account @ACCCProdSafety using the hash tag #prodsafe.
