Reasons the product is recalled
The seatposts on the affected bicycles and those that were sold after-market can crack and break during use.
The hazards to consumers
If the defect occurs, this can result in a loss of control and poses a fall hazard to consumers.
What consumers should do
Consumers should stop riding bicycles with the affected seatposts and contact their local authorized Giant dealer or Giant Australia directly to determine if their bicycles are subject to the recall. If so, they should arrange for free replacement of the seatpost.
