Reasons the product is recalled
The walnut cot does not comply with the mandatory Australian standard, AS/NZS 2172:2003 Cots for household use—safety and performance requirements. There were multiple failures related to labelling and non-compliance with the requirements for drop sides of cots.
The hazards to consumers
The cot failed to comply with the various design, safety and performance and marking requirements of the mandatory standard. The product poses numerous risks, including the risks of suffocation and entrapment particularly, to vulnerable infants using this product.
What consumers should do
All affected customers should:
• stop using the cot immediately
• not re-gift or sell any used cots
• contact Vicky Sun Pty Ltd to arrange for their cots to be collected and destroyed (at Vicky Sun Pty Ltd's expense) and a full-refund for the cost of the walnut 3 in 1 wooden sleigh cot.
