The Australian Product Safety Pledge Annual Report outlines the outcomes attained by signatories from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021, as measured against the key performance indicators of the pledge.
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) establishes a framework for cooperation and coordination between the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in relation to the Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 (RVS Act) and consumer product safety under Part 3-3 of the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
The Australian Product Safety Pledge is a voluntary initiative which commits its signatories to certain product safety-related responsibilities and reporting on the outcomes and effectiveness of their initiatives, measured against key performance indicators.
The ACCC performs its product safety work in line with the annual priorities set by the ACCC each year. The policy also sets out the principles adopted by the ACCC for prioritising and addressing product safety risks.
