Don't be a jackass with jacks: now see the YouTube film & enter the competition!

Published

The national DIY vehicle maintenance safety campaign has jacked up its efforts to prevent Aussies getting injured or killed while working under their car by releasing a YouTube safety film and launching an Australia-wide competition.

The 'Don't be a jackass with jacks' campaign website www.productsafety.gov.au/dontbeajackass has also gone mobile-friendly, which means DIY safety tips and info are now easily accessible when not at a computer.

The YouTube safety film "Don't be a jackass - an anti-manual for using a car jack" is now on the website and can also be found on ACCC Product Safety's YouTube Channel, www.youtube.com/ACCCProductSafety.

The campaign website also has an entry form for the competition: anyone over 18 years old can enter to win an Adrenalin experience of their choice by simply answering a specific safety question. Free postcards distributed in cafes, restaurants and other venues will promote the competition around the country.

Australians can follow the campaign on Twitter via the hashtag #dontbeajackass and by following @ProductSafetyAU.
