The ACCC and the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) are co-hosting an international conference on consumer product safety in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia on 9-10 October 2013.

The two day event will take place at the Outrigger Resort in Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast and is the first international consumer product safety conference to be held in Australia.

ACCC Chairman Rod Sims will be a keynote speaker at the event..
Planned sessions include:
- The product safety process using the ISO10377-2013 model in detail covering risk assessment, compliance validation and verification, pre-production qualification of materials, processes and manufacturers, crisis management and post market follow up.
- Legislative updates from top government regulatory officials from many Asia-Pacific nations as well as the United States and European regulators will give you the latest updates on what is happening in legislation, chemical management, market surveillance and enforcement of product safety laws.
- "I Saw it on Twitter" - The impact that social media has had on how we communicate about and learn of product safety issues. You'll learn about how to effectively use social media to reach your consumers.
- Research - the latest on chemicals and nanotech research from a group of highly respected research groups in Australia and other nations.

Registration for the two day conference is only $500 USD for ICPHSO members and $525 USD for non-members, with further discounts for government and non-profit organisations.
