The new mandatory standard for portable swimming pools made by the Commonwealth Assistant Treasurer on 4 January 2013 comes into full effect on 30 March 2014. It prescribes mandatory labelling requirements for portable swimming pools and retail packaging for portable swimming pools.
On 20 June 2013, Standards Australia published for public comment a draft revision of the Australian Standard 1900-2002 Flotation aids for water familiarisation and swimming tuition. The ACCC is encouraging all relevant stakeholders to review Standards Australia’s proposal.
