Identifying features

The product serial number or the "SNID" number is required to establish if the unit is affected. Instructions as to where to locate the serial number or the SNID number will be given at the point of contact with Acer.

What are the defects?

Fraying of insulation covering electrical cabelling may occur when the left palm rest is subjected to repeated heavy pressure.

What are the hazards?

The frayed cable may cause overheating of the notebook case which may in turn burn the operator.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should either:

(a) contact Acer’s website www.acer.com.au and follow the directions
to Select the ‘Service and Support’ link at top of page; or
(b) telephone Acer’s call centre on 1300 365 100 where directions will be
given.
At the contact point, consumers will be given instructions for the return to Acer and rectification of the Notebook, at Acer’s cost.
