Actsmart—Actsmart branded Digital Shower Timer
What are the defects?
The digital shower timer package contains a loose 10mm button battery and is not marked with a warning label alerting consumers to the hazard of young children ingesting it.
What are the hazards?
A swallowed button battery can cause internal chemical burns leading to serious injury or death in as little as two hours.
What should consumers do?
Recipients of the Actsmart-branded digital shower timer should keep the button battery out of reach of children and ensure the button battery is installed correctly as soon as possible. Recipients may return the digital shower timer to Actsmart, Environment and Planning Directorate, 16 Challis Street Dickson ACT 2612.
The shower timers were available free of charge at community events, workshops and home energy program visits made in the last 12 months.
