Reasons the product is recalled
The Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) module on a number of vehicles may activate a diagnostic trouble code (DTC). This is due to external stimulus which disables the ORC ability to sense vehicle rollover events.
The hazards to consumers
In the event the ORC module is disabled for a rollover situation, the loss of air bag deployment capability during a crash may increase the risk of injury or death.
What consumers should do
Owners should contact their authorised RAM Truck dealer who will inspect and reprogram the ORC module with new software.
