What are the defects?

The front passenger air bag inflator may have been assembled with improperly manufactured propellant wafers.

What are the hazards?

In the event of a crash, the air-bag inflator may rupture and cause the front passenger air bag to deploy abnormally, increasing the risk of injury to the occupant.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should take extra care when driving. BMW Group Australia are currently securing the required parts for rectification. Once the parts are available, customers will be sent a letter instructing them to take their vehicle to their preferred BMW dealer for inspection and rectification.
