Cummins Inc — Tiffin Recreational Vehicles with Cummins ISV5.0 Engines
What are the defects?
The engines may experience decreased air compressor output, impacting air braking.
What are the hazards?
If air braking is impacted, the condition progresses and audible and visible warnings are ignored, the parking brake would eventually be applied automatically, increasing the risk of an accident.
What should consumers do?
Cummins has sent a notification to owners to inform them of the safety issue, to confirm that parts are available to carry out repairs and to provide instructions to schedule the repair of the engine.
Cummins will replace the existing high mount air compressor configuration of the affected engines with a new low mount air compressor configuration.
