Dyson Appliances (Aust) Pty Ltd—DC05 Motorhead

Identifying features

Dyson DC05 Motorhead vacuum cleaners sold between 2000 and 2005.

What are the defects?

In rare instances, the clip on the DC05 Motorhead wand handle has been found to crack and this can cause the hose to become detached resulting in electrical connections being exposed.

What are the hazards?

If these connections are touched, while the machine is plugged in, there is a risk of electrical shock and/or burn.

What should consumers do?

Unplug their machine. Check that the hose is securely attached. If it is loose or detached do not operate the machine and contact Dyson Appliances (Aust) Pty Ltd on 1800 275 397 immediately.

If the hose is firmly attached, there is no immediate risk. Contact Dyson Appliances (Aust) Pty Ltd to receive a reinforcing cuff to prevent hose detachment.
