Model FJ 303, Serial Nos. 00252603 to 03351412 and 64443156 to 95243332; and Model FJ 383, Serial Nos. 00251165 to 03054003 and 64244656 to 95241694. Freezers were available for sale between November 1996 and September 2000.
Reasons the product is recalled
Risk of failure in the defrost timer which may result in the freezer ceasing to function, releasing smoke, damaging the freezer and surrounds and may result in freezer igniting.
The hazards to consumers
Fire.
What consumers should do
Call Toll Free 1800 001 218 to organise a service technician to replace the defrost timer without cost to the customer. Customers should have their model and serial number available when calling the Toll Free number.
