FCA Australia Pty Ltd — 2010 (DJ) Dodge RAM 2500 Pickup and 2010 (D2) Dodge RAM 3500 Pickup
What are the defects?
The Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) locking pin may become stuck in the open position. A BTSI locking pin stuck in the open position may allow the transmission to be shifted out of PARK into to any gear position without depression of the brake pedal and/or without the key in the ignition, if a key is applicable.
What are the hazards?
The ability to shift the transmission out of PARK position without a key in the ignition or brake pedal application, increases the potential for an unintended vehicle rollaway that may increase the risk of a crash and/or occupant injury.
What should consumers do?
FCA will notify owners of affected vehicles, who can schedule an appointment for an inspection of the vehicle with their nearest Dodge dealer.
FCA will contact the owner by mail as soon as a remedy and/or parts become available.
Once the owner receives a follow-up notice, they should contact their nearest Dodge dealer to schedule a repair booking.
