Jaguar—XF and XK 5.0L Normally Aspirated V8 Models
What are the defects?
The in-tank electric fuel pump may not be correctly activated following a vehicle start-up cycle.
What are the hazards?
It is possible that the engine may cut out whilst driving, but the engine can be instantly re-started. Power Assisted Steering (PAS) will be lost once the vehicle speed drops below the torque converter speed threshold, however, the vehicle steering will remain functional with increased steering effort required.
What should consumers do?
Letters will be sent to affected owners.
Owners are advised to contact their authorised Jaguar dealer who will introduce new software to prevent the fuel pump de-energising whilst the engine is running.
