What are the defects?
A bearing in the fuel pump may wear and cause an abnormal noise. Continued use may lead to decreased engine power and cause the bearing to break.
What are the hazards?
If the bearing fails, the fuel pump will stop working and may cause the engine to stall and prevent it from restarting. This may pose a hazard to the driver and other road users.
What should consumers do?
A letter is being sent to owners of the affected motorcycles. Consumers should contact their nearest Kawasaki Motorcycle Dealership to arrange for the defect to be rectified.
