What are the defects?

The product does not comply with ISO 13772. The non-manual chain brake function, normally activated by kickback, may not function correctly when required.

What are the hazards?

Users may be injured by contact with the rotating chain if chain brake does not activate when kickback is experienced.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should immediately stop using the product, drain the fuel/oil and return it to their nearest authorised Makita dealer for repair.

Consumers can go to,219/view,map/ or call 1300 361 690 between 8am and 5pm (AEST) for help locating a Makita dealer. Consumers can also return the product to the place of purchase to arrange for a repair.
