What are the defects?

The operator's manual of certain X Class vehicles contains insufficient or incorrect warning information.

In the operator's manual, the maximum permissible combined roof load is stated incorrectly, the “ESP” function is incorrectly stated for certain circumstances and some warning messages that may be displayed for the “Pre safe” function, are not described in the operator’s manual.

What are the hazards?

Incorrect or missing information could increase the risk of an accident.

What should consumers do?

Consumers are requested to contact their most convenient authorised Mercedes-Benz Retailer for a free of charge replacement of the physical operator's manual and a software update to make the necessary corrections to the electronic version of the operator's manual installed in the vehicle.
