Myer Pty Ltd—Wayne Junior Acid Wash Jeans
What are the defects?
The dye used during the manufacture of the pocket lining of these jeans may have contained hazardous azo-colourants.
What are the hazards?
Expert authorities classify these azo-colourants as carcinogens and recommend that exposure be minimised. While this dye is not banned for textiles use in Australia Myer is recalling these two styles of jeans.
What should consumers do?
Myer recommends that customers who have purchased these styles from a Myer store or online at myer.com.au should not allow the jeans to continue to be worn and may return the garment to any Myer store for a full refund of the purchase price.
