What are the defects?
The internal grip assist handle located on the A-Pillar was not manufactured to the correct durability specification and may detach or break during use.
What are the hazards?
Should the grip assist handle detach or break this may pose a risk of injury to vehicle users.
What should consumers do?
Nissan Motor Co Australia will contact owners of affected vehicles requesting that the owners contact a Nissan dealer to book an appointment to carry out the free repair, which involves fitting a reinforcement panel to prevent the A-pillar cracking. Parts will not be available until September 2019.
