Identifying features

The affected models are: BR-CX75, BR-R515 & BR-R315. A limited number of these units have been sold as an aftermarket item. The majority of units were sold as part of complete bicycles.

In Australia, the affected bicycle models are: Specialized Roubaix SL4, BMC GF02, BH RX Team Cyclocross 105 and Cannondale Road Tandem 1.

What are the defects?

The steel balls inside the cam mechanism of the disc brake calliper can fall out of place, resulting in a loss of braking power.

What are the hazards?

Loss of braking performance in the worst case scenario may lead to loss of control or an accident.

What should consumers do?

Consumers should immediately stop using bicycles with the recalled brake callipers and take them to a Shimano authorised retailer for a free inspection and installation of replacement callipers.
