Reasons the product is recalled

A front quick-release cam lever that has a clearance of less than 6 millimetres and is improperly adjusted or left open while riding may come in contact with the front disc brake rotor.

The hazards to consumers

If the quick release lever contacts the front disc brake rotor, this may cause the front wheel to come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle, posing a risk of injury to the rider.

What consumers should do

Consumers should perform the #2 Pencil Test (a video on how to perform the #2 Pencil Test is on www.quickreleaserecall.com) to determine if their bicycle is affected. If the bicycle is affected, consumers should visit their nearest Authorised Specialized Retailer for a free replacement of the front quick-release.
