What are the defects?

A sharp edge in the rear centre seat belt anchor bracket may damage the seatbelt webbing for that seat during a collision.

What are the hazards?

If this were to occur, in the worst case, the seat belt webbing may be compromised and not properly restrain the rear centre occupant. There is an increased risk of serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.

What should consumers do?

Until the seat belt anchor has been repaired, consumers are strongly advised to avoid passengers using the rear centre seat position.

Toyota will contact affected consumers in writing, advising that their vehicles are affected by this recall and requesting that they make an appointment at their preferred Toyota dealer for rectification, free of charge.
