Tyco Group—Simplex photoelectric smoke detectors and sensors

What are the defects?

The issue resulted from circuit board cleanliness during the manufacturing process. Residual contamination from a soldering process was not fully removed during a cleaning process. This contamination can potentially lower the sensitivity of the device to detect smoke under both high heat and high humidity conditions.

What are the hazards?

Equipment malfunction.

What should consumers do?

The local Simplex branch office will be contacting its customers to set up an appointment to carry out the verification program.
