What are the defects?
Under certain conditions in cold climates, the tailgate lifting arms may freeze.
What are the hazards?
If the defect occurs, it may lead to an unusual noise, loss of function, or complete separation of the tailgate lifting arms, which could result in the internal spring detaching and being propelled in a rearward direction with significant force, which may cause personal injury.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should contact their Volvo dealer and organise an appointment to replace both power operated tailgate lifitng arms.
