Reasons the product is recalled
Fraying of insulation covering electrical cabelling may occur when the left palm rest is subjected to repeated heavy pressure.
The hazards to consumers
The frayed cable may cause overheating of the notebook case which may in turn burn the operator.
What consumers should do
Consumers should either:
(a) contact Acer’s website www.acer.com.au and follow the directions
to Select the ‘Service and Support’ link at top of page; or
(b) telephone Acer’s call centre on 1300 365 100 where directions will be
given.
At the contact point, consumers will be given instructions for the return to Acer and rectification of the Notebook, at Acer’s cost.
