Reasons the product is recalled
The dye used to colour the fabric in the tongue lining of the boot contains traces of the chemical benzidine.
The hazards to consumers
Expert authorities classify benzidine as a carcinogen and recommend that exposure be limited. Prolonged and direct contact with the boot lining could expose the wearer to the chemical.
What consumers should do
Consumers should immediately stop using the boots. Consumers should call Accent Group on 1800 655 154 or email AccentCustomerService@accentgr.com.au to arrange a postage paid satchel to be sent to their address for the return of the boots. Consumers will receive a full refund.
