What are the defects?
Due to poor quality fuel, or insufficient maintenance, the engine may misfire, causing the muffler to overheat. If the vehicle continues to be used when it is malfunctioning, it may melt the muffler heat shield.
What are the hazards?
If the plastic heat shield melts it may lead to a fire and/or burn hazard.
What should consumers do?
Honda will contact affected owners by mail and advise them to contact their nearest authorised Honda Dealer to arrange a free repair.
