A centre bore locating ring ('CBL') is a cast hard plastic ring. The CBLs are black, circular, and have a thickness of 3 mm.
The function of a CBL is to be placed on to the hub or spigot of a motor vehicle to assist with the fitting of wheels.
The product is used with seven specific aluminium alloy wheels (see identifying numbers list)
What are the defects?
The centre bore locating ring may not be suitable size for the wheel, which may cause the ring to wear over time and the wheel to loosen.
What are the hazards?
If the wheel loosens, this can result in loss of vehicle control. If this occurs this can increase the risk of an accident or injury to the driver or bystanders. In the event of a serious accident, this may result in death.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should return the product to the place of purchase for a replacement CBL ring, free of charge.
