Leather peplum skirt waist belt in black, to which small metal studs have been hand-fitted to the peplum skirt part of the belt.
Reasons the product is recalled
Some (but not all) of the metal studs that have been fitted to the products appear to be contaminated with Cobalt-60, a radioactive material.
The hazards to consumers
Cobalt-60 is a radioactive material. Ionizing radiation is known to cause cancer and exposure to Cobalt-60 may result in an increased risk of cancer. Advice obtained from a regulated radiation handling company in the UK advised that an individual would need to wear one of the belts for about 500 hours per year for the effects of that radiation to be felt.
