The base of the mug may crack, break and come free when boiling water or liquid is poured into the mug.
The hazards to consumers
If the base cracks or breaks there is a high risk of personal injury, such as scalding arising from boiling liquid being released from the mug. There is also a risk of injury from the sharp edges if the base cracks or breaks.
What consumers should do
Customers should immediately cease using the product and return it to any Big W store for a full refund.
