Reason the product is recalled

When using certain tyre widths on the 2017 and 2018 model year Timemachine 01 models, the distance between the front tyre and the down tube may not meet the required safety tolerance, and there may be contact between the frame and the tyre.

The hazards to consumers

Contact between the tyre and the frame can pose an increased risk of the rider crashing.

What consumers should do

Owners of 2017 and 2018 model year Timemachine 01 bicycles should stop riding them and return the bike to a BMC dealer for an inspection of tyre clearance and to arrange any necessary repair work, which will be carried out free-of-charge. A newly developed fork will be available from September 2018. Owners that have returned their bikes for inspection and registered for the recall will be contacted once parts are available to organise a time for the replacement work.
