What are the defects?
Recent tests in accordance with the Australian safety standard for ladders (AS/NZS 1982.1:1996) showed that the item failed to meet the requirements for ladders with the rated loading capacity of 150kg. The actual maximum safe loading capacity for the ladder is 120kg.
What are the hazards?
Using the ladders to support loads greater than 120kg may result in fall injuries.
What should consumers do?
Customers should not use the ladder for loads in excess of 120kg. Customers should return the ladder to the nearest Bunnings store with proof of purchase to arrange for a new rating label marked with the safe loading capacity (120kg) to be affixed and also to receive a $10 gift card. Alternatively, customers may return the ladder for a full refund of the purchase price.
