Product description
The DBI-SALA Railok Vertical Rail Safety System ("Railok System") is a fixed rail system comprising a trolley, rail, and attachment devices used to arrest falls from ladders.
Why the product is recalled
Notwithstanding the Railok System's compliance with all applicable standards, Capital Safety has identified a potential hazard. If a worker falls backwards before falling downwards the trolley may not engage the rail as intended and the worker may sustain serious injury.
What the hazards are to consumers
The reason for the recall is the possibility that if a worker falls backwards before falling downwards (a scenario not contemplated by the dynamic test underlying the current standard), the trolley may not engage the rail as intended, and the worker may sustain serious injury.
What consumers should do
If end-users have a Railok System trolley in service, they must immediately take the trolley out of service and call Capital Safety's Customer Service department at 1800 245 002 to arrange for its return and replacement with an upgraded trolley.
Pending installation of the upgraded trolley, end users must use alternative
fall arrest systems (eg. twin lanyard).
