Reason the product is recalled

There is a potential weakness in the nut and bolt used to secure the bottom steering shaft to the steering gearbox. The resulting inadequate clamp load at the yoke-to-shaft connection can result in excessive play or looseness in the steering.

The hazards to consumers

This may potentially result in a reduction or loss of steering control, posing an accident risk.

What consumers should do

Consumers should stop using their ride-on mower and check the manufacture date displayed on the model plate label located under the seat.

Consumers should then contact their closest Cub Cadet dealership or authorised repair agent to arrange an inspection, and if necessary, the repair of their ride-on mower free of charge.

A list of Cub Cadet dealerships can be found at: http://www.cubcadet.com.au
