The Easton Axis arrow is a carbon composite arrow that is used for bow hunting. Additional use may include target archery. This recall relates to a limited number of Easton Axis Arrows produced in four sizes and in four batches in February and March 2013. It does not relate to any other Axis Arrows or any other arrows made by Easton.
Why the product is recalled
Some arrow shafts in the affected batches did not comply with Easton's quality assurance standards.
What the hazards are to consumers
If an arrow breaks while being fired or when it hits a target, it can result in injuries to the archer or other persons in the vicinity. The types of injuries may range from scratches and bruises, to penetration wounds to the hand, arm, or face.
What consumers should do
Consumers with products matching the batch numbers should immediately stop using the arrow shafts and return the product contact Easton through their website (www.eastonarchery.com or www.axisrecall.com) or email (axisrecall@eastontp.com) to arrange for return of the product to Pat’s Archery (regardless of whether they purchased the products from Pat’s Archery or Highland Archery Suppliers).
Alternatively, consumers can contact Pats Archery directly at 15 Grantley Avenue, Victor Harbour SA 5211, or contact Pats Archery on (08) 8552 6722 to arrange the return and replacement.
Easton will replace the product with a similar product at no charge to consumers, and Easton will cover all shipping expenses. Further, Easton will provide consumers one additional arrow for each six affected arrows returned as an incentive and to compensate for any inconvenience.
