What are the defects?
Due to loose/faulty plastic casings, the magnets may fall out of the blocks, presenting a choking hazard for infants and thereby breaching the mandatory standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age, AS/NZS 8124.1:2002 (as amended by the regulation).
What are the hazards?
If the magnets are liberated during use, this poses a potential choking or ingestion hazard to young children, possibly causing serious injury or even death.
What should consumers do?
Customers should immediately stop using the EVA soft blocks and return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
