The product does not comply with the mandatory Australian safety standard AS/NZS 4220:1994. The upright corner posts do not meet the safety standard requirement as they exceed the allowed 8mm protrusion height.
The hazards to consumers
Potential strangulation hazard if the child's clothes get caught on the protrusion.
What consumers should do
Consumers should contact the store where the ‘Kelly bunk bed' was purchased or email customerservice@fantasticfurniture.com.au to arrange for replacement plastic pole protection caps to be sent to them.
