What are the defects?
When used incorrectly, the tapering of the inside bottom of a chair leg may lead to an entrapment or laceration hazard.
What are the hazards?
Entrapment or laceration hazard.
What should consumers do?
Freedom will supply a free plug insert kit to customers and these plugs will need to be inserted into the legs of the chairs. Once plugs have been inserted this safety risk is eliminated. To obtain the free plug insert kit please email steelchairs@freedom.com.au.
Customers can choose to visit a Freedom store or email steelchairs@freedom.com.au to arrange an exchange of their Utility chairs for our current Laurent model available in two colours. The Laurent chair looks similar but does not pose the same safety risk as the design of the inner lower leg is different. Alternatively, customers can return their Utility chairs to a
Freedom store for a refund.
