Reason the product is recalled
The products contain a concentration of "free" formaldehyde in excess of the allowable limit as stipulated in the Standard for the Uniform Scheduling of Medicines and Poisons (SUSMP).
The hazards to consumers
Formaldehyde is known to cause sensory irritation and skin sensitisation. Formaldehyde may also cause cancer in circumstances where there is chronic high exposure.
What consumers should do
Stop using the products immediately and return the remaining solution to the place of purchase for a refund or a replacement. Alternatively, customers will be contacted by a sales representative, whereupon the faulty goods will be replaced.
