Reason the product is recalled

In certain cases, the handlebars have not been properly manufactured and will bend easily in normal use.

The hazards to consumers

If the handlebars bend during use the rider may lose control and fall, possibly causing serious injury.

What consumers should do

Consumers should check the serial number to see if their bike is affected.

To check the serial number, consumers should turn the bike upside down and remove the screw holding the bottom bracket cable guide in place. Move the guide and cables slightly to read the stamped 11-digit serial number.

Consumers should then visit http://serialnumbers.dorelsports.com and type in the 11-digit serial number. If the bike is affected by the recall, consumers should return the GT Bicycle immediately to the nearest GT retailer to have a replacement handlebar fitted.
