Product description

The gumnut candle holder is supplied as a hoop pine plywood sheet with pieces pre-cut. The pieces are popped out of the sheet and slotted together to make a candle holder, similar to a 3-D jigsaw puzzle.

Reason the product is recalled

The assembled wooden candle holder may catch fire.

The product is covered by the permanent ban on combustible candle holders, as set out in Consumer Protection Notice No.12 of 2011 Permanent ban on combustible candle holders. This ban covers objects that are designed to hold or decorate a candle and which ignite and continue to flame for at least 5 seconds when subjected to flame or heat emanating from a candle.

The hazards to consumers

Potential burns, serious injury or death can occur if the candle holder catches fire.

What consumers should do

The candle holder should be returned to the place of purchase for a full refund.
