Why the product is recalled
Some products from the affected batch may contain a pathogenic organism, Staphylococcus aureus, commonly known as golden staph.
What the hazards are to consumers
Golden staph is commonly carried on the skin or in the nose of healthy people. However, particularly in children, the elderly or immuno-compromised people, it can cause infections. Health risks associated with this issue are varied, from no symptoms to skin infections, or, in the most severe cases, life-threatening infections such as pneumonia, meningitis or blood-stream infections.
What consumers should do
If you have any Metagenics NasoClear Nasal Spray, check the batch number located on the bottle label. If it comes from batch number 80789, do not use it. Return it to the place of purchase for a credit.
