Reason the product is recalled
A Locating Collar was not installed in the Sub-Transmission of some units, which may allow the Parking Pawl to move out of alignment and not engage when the gearshift position is in Park.
The hazards to consumers
If the parking mechanism fails to engage, the vehicle may be able to move unexpectedly when parked, increasing the risk of injury to vehicle occupants and/or bystanders.
