The Consumer Goods (Sunglasses and Fashion Spectacles) Safety Standard 2017 sets out the mandatory requirements for sunglasses and fashion spectacles. The products do not have appropriate labelling identifying lens category, description or compliance information.
The hazards to consumers
The incorrect level of protection can result in vision impairment or exposure to very high levels of sunlight and are not to be worn while driving.
What consumers should do
Consumers will be contacted via email and advised of the incorrect labelling. Consumers are to contact Eye Tribe Pty Ltd on 03 9819 7005 and return the purchased item for a full refund or replacement.
