Product description
EN1223S Water-Resistant Pendants and the EN1233S Single Button Pendants and associated hardware and technology are used in connection with professionally installed and serviced health and/or security monitoring systems in licensed senior living facilities, commercial buildings and in limited instances, luxury residences. The devices are designed to allow users to send an alarm for the purposes of requesting assistance from a designated responder (e.g. nurse, security guard, or other person qualified to provide assistance).
Why the product is recalled
Incorrect programming means that the products are not operating as intended and the affected pendant products will be unable to send an alarm upon activation of the button press mechanism; therefore cannot elicit a response from a designated responder.
What the hazards are to consumers
If an alarm is unable to be sent or is not received there is the potential for the call from the user to go unattended and this may place the user at risk of harm.
What consumers should do
Identify any affected units, and discontinue use of those units immediately. Contact relevant trader and arrange for a replacement product (Hills).
