The fittings are used to connect Iplex's 25mm K1 multilayer domestic gas pipe to valves and gas meters.
What are the defects?
In some instances the fitting has cracked when crimped to 25mm K1 multilayer gas pipe.
What are the hazards?
If the crack is undetected at the time of installation or during subsequent pressure testing, gas leakage may occur.
What should consumers do?
Consumers and gas fitters who have purchased the fitting from the nominated outlets between 6 March and 3 August 2012 should immediately contact Iplex Pipelines to arrange a replacement of the fitting at no cost to the consumer.
