Reason the product is recalled
The reverse implement option (RIO) system can fail, posing a laceration hazard to bystanders. RIO is a safety system that shuts off power to the mower blades when the machine is placed into reverse.
The hazards to consumers
Potential for laceration hazard to bystanders if the operator does not look behind before moving in reverse, and the mower blades are under power.
What consumers should do
Consumers should contact an authorised John Deere Dealer. John Deere dealers will repair affected lawn tractors by installing new software that will disable the FIM system.
